Full Itinerary

Day 1

Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center → Yu Garden → Nanjing Road → The Bund → Huangpu River Cruise

Morning: Start your exploration at the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, the largest urban planning exhibition hall in China. This fascinating museum gives you a comprehensive overview of Shanghai's past, present, and future through incredible scale models — including a massive 1:500 model of the entire city center.

Midday: Continue to Yu Garden, a classical Chinese garden built over 400 years ago during the Ming Dynasty. Explore the exquisite pavilions, rockeries, and ponds, then wander through the lively Yuyuan Bazaar where you can shop for traditional Chinese handicrafts and taste local snacks.

Afternoon: Walk along Nanjing Road, Shanghai's oldest and most famous shopping street, stretching from the Bund to the heart of the city. Experience the vibrant energy of this pedestrian-friendly commercial hub.

Evening: Arrive at The Bund just as the sun begins to set. Watch as the historic colonial buildings on one side and the futuristic Pudong skyline on the other create a breathtaking contrast. End the day with a memorable Huangpu River night cruise, where you'll see the entire city lit up in dazzling colors.

Day 2

Shanghai Tower → Shanghai Museum East → Wukang Road → Tianzifang → Departure

Morning: Head to the Lujiazui financial district in Pudong. Ride one of the world's fastest elevators to the 118th-floor observation deck (546 meters) of the Shanghai Tower — China's tallest building and the third tallest in the world at 632 meters. Enjoy a jaw-dropping 360° panoramic view of Shanghai's dynamic skyline, including the modern Pudong area, the historic Bund, and the winding Huangpu River.

Midday: Visit the Shanghai Museum East, also in Pudong, which is dubbed the "Textbook of Chinese Art History." With 8 permanent galleries including bronzes, calligraphy, paintings, ceramics, jade, and sculptures, it houses over one billion cultural relics dating back more than 5,000 years. Don't miss the Da Ke Ding (bronze food vessel) and Bianzhong of Marquis Su of Jin (ancient musical instruments) — the museum's top treasures.

Afternoon: Cross back to Puxi and take a leisurely stroll along Wukang Road, a beautifully preserved old foreign community with massive early 20th-century Western-style mansions. Then explore Tianzifang, a unique arts and crafts enclave remolded from a traditional residential block. Intertwined narrow alleys are filled with creative shops, cafés, bars, and restaurants — the perfect place to experience modern Shanghai life.

Evening: Your guide will escort you to the airport or train station for your departure, or back to your hotel for an overnight stay.
